It
happened in the
village
of
Zaremby
on the nineteenth of January,
eighteen hundred thirty four at
eight o’clock
in the morning.
The Jew Leybka Kamien, age fifty three, synagogue sexton, and
Jankiel Wulfowicz Augustower, a dyer, age forty, both of whom are residing
in the village of Zaremby, appeared and testified that on the seventeenth
of the current month at eight o’clock in the morning died Sosia, almost
two years old, daughter of Herszko and Szeyna married couple Tachna,
residing in the village of Zaremby and earning their living from the
writing of G-d’s Commandments [Torah Scribe].
After having convinced ourselves with our own eyes of the death of
Sosia, this document was read to the witnesses, who live in the
neighborhood of the deceased. The
witnesses cannot write.
