It happened in the town of Mlawa on the thirteenth/twenty fifth of January 1844 at twelve o’clock noon appeared Jew Moszek [Moshe] Tachna, a tanner residing in Mlawa forty years old and in the presence of Jewish witnesses Lewin Szmulowich Landau, teacher from Mlawa sixty two years old and presented to us a child of masculine gender born here in Mlawa on sixth/eighth of the current month and current year at one o’clock from his wife Hany Ryfki from Lipowich thirty years old.  Today at the circumcision ceremony the child was given the name Icik Lajb [Yitzhak Laybe].  The document was read to the appearing witnesses and signed by them.  Father declared that he is illiterate.
