It
happened in the town of Sokolow on the nineteenth of August, eighteen
hundred and forty six at ten o'clock in the morning – the Jew Moszko
Judkowicz [Moshe son of Yehudah] Tachna,
tanner, age twenty four, residing in the town of Sokolow, appeared in the
presence of the witnesses, the Jews Josko Szlatman, age seventy, synagogue
sexton, and Srul Elster, synagogue caretaker, age fifty five, both of whom
residing in the town of Sokolow, and showed us a child of female sex, born
here in Sokolow on the sixteenth of August of the current year at six
o'clock in the morning, to his wife Golda z Wolfow [Golda daughter
of Wolf],
age twenty, to whom at the religious ceremony was given the name Gitla
Moszkowna Tachna. This document was read to the testifier and the
witnesses and signed by us, whereas the the testifiers declared that they
cannot write.
