He was married to Jenta Kahana on January 5, 1827 in Warsaw (marriag e registered on June 16, 1829). Jenta Kahana was born circa 1808 in B rody, Galicia, and was a daughter of Chaim Abraham Kahana, a merchan t in Brody, and Estera a daughter of Berek. Jenta died on June 10, 18 32, age 22, and was buried in the Warsaw Jewish Cemetery (sector 9, ro w 2, number 13). On her tombstone it says her father is from Brody an d that she had only one child.

Abel married again and his second wife was Rebecca Rappaport, daughte r of Joseph Hirsch Rappaport of Lwow. Abel and Rebecca lived in Zuraw no, Galicia. In the donors' list of the book Limudei Hateva (1837) Ab el is listed as Abeli ZW'M Cohn from Warsaw, living in Zurawno.
