Constancia Gustave nee Cohn Feilchenfeld is described in the "Descenda nts of Wolf Fales" as being the daughter of "Chaim Cohn, Rabbi of Kemp en, when she was born, later silk merchant in Warsaw. Her mother's fa ther was Rabbi Landau in Kempen." This document gives her date of bir th as 1840 in Kempen and date of death as 1927 in Berlin. This date o f birth corresponds with the date of Gitel Cohn in Kempen.
According to "The Descendants of Wolf Fales" she married Stanislaw (Sa chna) Ephraim Feilchenfeld, which is corroborated by JRI. From this d ocument: He was born in Warsaw on August 16, 1833, and died in Thor n in 1907. He was a businessman. Celebrated by Polish patriots becau se, in 1863, he participated in the Polish insurrection against the Ru ssians, and, when it failed, fled to Prussia, saving the funds which f ed the movement. He settled in Thorn where his cousins lived...and wa s naturalized.
JRI contains the marriage record of Lewi Falchenfeld and Mrya Neuding , who were likely Stanislaw's parents. They were married in Warsaw i n 1823. Lewi Falchenfeld is native of Leszno (Lissa), a son of Szymo n and Marya Szotlend, and his wife Marya is a daughter of Szachna Neud ing and Rayzla, daughter of Jozek.
Thus Stanislaw (Szachna) Feilchenfeld appears to be a grandson of Szac hna Neuding, one of the three men who took part in the Jewish delegati on which met with Tsar Alexander I to acquire equal rights for the Jew s. The other two men of the delegation were Wolf Michel Cohn (husban d of Chaim Cohn's great aunt Sora Rochel Cohn); and MIchel Ettinger Ra wski, who was a relative of Chaim Cohn's father-in-law Rabbi Joseph Sa muel Landau, who wrote a eulogy for Michel Ettinger Rawski after his d eath which was later published.
