He was a merchant. He was married to Szayna Frayda, daughter of Lei b (or Lewek) Hirszfeld. They were married in Warsaw probably in Octob er 1816 (the marriage was registered on November 6, 1816). Accordin g to Abraham Samuel Herszberg, Lewek Hirszfeld was a son of Rabbi Chai m, the head Rabbi of Szczuczyn in the Lomza Gurbernia, also known as t he Magid [Preacher] of Szczuczyn. Szyana Frayda was born circa 1799 a nd died on November 26, 1865, age 66, Warsaw. She is buried in the Wa rsaw Jewish Cemetery (sector 11, row 12, number 16). Szayna Frayda wa s apparently a first cousin of Szajna Ruchla nee Jeszurin, the wife o f Dawid Cohn (brother of Sura Ruchla Cohn).
