He was the eldest child of Sora Rochel nee Cohn and Wolf Michel Cohn ( Leipziger). He was born in 1791, perhaps in Warsaw, and died in 188 1 (or 1882 or 1883) in Sochaczew. He was married to Braindla, a daugh ter of Rabbi Jacob Lorbeerbaum of Lissa (Lesno). Braindla was born ci rca 1794.

He was a merchant and a Chassidic Rabbi. He was a disciple of the Cha ssidic rebbes Simcha Bunem of Pzysucha, Menachem Mendel Morgenstern o f Kock (the Kotzker rebbe), and Itzchak Meir Rothernberg Alter of Ge r [Gora Kalwaria] (the Chiddushei HaRim). Many of his descendants ar e Chassidic rabbis.

Braindla, married the MAHARACH Rabbi Eleazar (Leyzer Wolf Cohn) HaKoha n, the Av Beis Din of Mkow Mazowiecki (north of Warsaw), Pultusk (wher e he wrote an approbation to Shem Hagedolim HeChadash in 1864) and fin ally Av Beis Din Sochaczew where he died in 1883. He was the son of R abbi Zeev Wolf, known as Wolf Leipziger. He was the author of Mispe d Tamrurim (a eulogy on the death of Rabbi Solomon Zalman, Av Beis Di n of Warsaw), published in Warsaw, 1839; Zecher Tzadik VeYesod Olam ( a eulogy on th edeath of the Gerer Rebbe Rabbi Isaac Meir Alter); Zich ron Nifla'ot (commentar of the Hagada; Nachal Bechi (a eulogy on the d eath of Rabbi Abraham, Av Beis Din Sochaczew).
