General Notes: Wife - Regina Ryfka Cohn
She was married to Antoni (Aron) Rosenberg, a merchant (b. circa 1827) . (There is an Antoni Rosenberg buried in Krakow (died 1894) but it i s not known if it is the same person).
Regina's date and place of death, and Hebrew name are taken from a dat abase (Juden im Deutschen Reich) found on the website "Genealogy.net " of the organization "Verein fur Computergenealogie." She is liste d in this database as: Regina Cohn, aus Warschau [from Warsaw], who d ied on August 23, 1905 at the age of 73, a widow. Her parents' name s are given as "David," whose occupation is "Kaufman" [business/mercha nt] and "Scheinler." In connection with her there is a "Knabe" [boy ] listed, presumably they mean her son named "Ryfkavel," but this mus t be a mistake. What is more likely is that this is her Hebrew name " Ryfka" with the Latin word "vel" [and] joined to it. So we can deduc e that her Hebrew name was Ryfka. The name of her mother "Scheinler " must be Szjana. Probably the handwriting was hard to read for whoev er entered teh information into the database. However, her only surna me is Cohn, with no mention of Rosenberg. At the time of her death Ko lberg was in Prussia, today it is in Poland, known as Kolobrzeg.
The person who reported her death was Julian Cohn, a lawyer from Warsa w. He is buried in the Warsaw Jewish Cemetery beside his wife. His w ife's name is Eugenja died on Dec. 26, 1919. A reasonable guess woul d be that Eugenia nee Rosenberg was a daughter of Regina Ryfka nee Coh n and Antoni Rosenberg, and that Julian Cohn was Regina's son-in-law . Their tombstone also contains the names of the following people (in scribed later on symbolically): the lawyer Kazimierz Cohn, the lawye r Michal Cohn and his wife the lawyer Roza z Galisow Cohn and Alfred C ohn.
