He was the second Rabbi (ABD) of Zgierz, from the years 1878-1896 (563 8-5657). His wife's name was Sara Bluma (Blima) daughter of Leibe (Le win) Kahana, known as Leibel Dem Rebis. They married in 1845 in Ciech anow (JRI-Poland) and Tzvi Hersz lived there before he lived in Zgierz .

He was the Av Beis Din of Pultusk and Zager.
