At the age of four she went to live in the house of her aunt Sarolta ( sister of her mother Pepi) in Marghita. This occured after the deat h of her father Joseph Markus Ungar. Her aunt Sarolta and her husban d wanted to adopt Lenke as their own child, but Lenke's mother Pepi op posed it.
