According to JRI his mother was Anna nee Berson, age 20 in 1857, so th is information matches. He probably married Dora Sachs in Lodz (or St . Petersbugr?) since in the Polish newspaper Dziennik Lodzki (15 [27 ] April, 1884) there is a marriage announcement for Jan Kaftal and Dor a Sachs. Beneath their names are the names of the two cities Lodz an d Petersburg. So it's possible they also lived in S. Petersburg, or p erhaps Jan was living in St. Petersburg at the time of their marriage . In any case the Jan Kaftal, born in Warsaw, would be 27 years old i n 1884. So his age fits. And there is a birth of "Dorotka Sachs" i n Lodz in 1865 (from JRI). She would be 19 years old in 1884, so thi s fits too.
