General Notes: Husband - Rabbi Jakób Lorberbaum from Lissa

He was from the town of Lissa (Prussia) wher ehe was Av Beis Din. Hi s first wife was the daughter of Rabbi Naftali Herz of Stanislaw. Hi s second wife was a daughter of Rabbi Benjamin Wolf Shapiro and the th ired was the daughter of his first cousin, Sheindel (married Rabbi JOs eph Teomim). In his youth, Rabbi Jacob was a pupil of Rabbi Meshulla m Egra and later engaged in business wich, upon failing,, he became A v Beis Di of Monastyriska where he also founded a yeshiva. He becam e the Av Beis Din of Kalisz and later of Lissa. Here he taught Rabb i Akiva Eger the YOunger who lived there from 1770-1791. He later ret urned to Kalisz where he lived for ten years. He died at Stryj May 25 , 1832. His most important works were Chavat Da'at (Lvov, 1799); Meko r Chayim (Zolkiew, 1807); Netivot HaMishpat (Dyhernfurth, Lvov, and Zo lkiew, 1809); Torat Gittin (Frankfurt-on-Oder, 1813); Beit Yaakov (Gru bescow, 1823); and Kehillat Yaakov (Lvov, 1831). He also wrote commen taries on Ecclesiastes, Lamentations, and the Song of Songs, a compend ium of laws Derech HaChayim (Zolkiew, 1828) and a commentary on the Pa ssover Haggadah and ritual.
