General Notes: Wife - Susanne Landau

She was a medical doctor and perhaps biochemist. She was a professo r at the Indiana University School of Medicine. The radiology departm ent of this school has an annual lecture in her honor called: "The Su zanne von Schuching Advances in Radiopharmaceutical Developments Lectu re." She co-authored several articles which can be found in Worldcat , such as "A new derivative of Vitamin C and its application to the sy nthesis of labelled ascorbic acid." One of these articles reproduce d on the Internet she is at the Veterans Administration Center in Mart insburg, West Virginia. Her name appears in the Marianne Landau Colle ction of the Leo Baeck Institute as living in Lawrenceville, New Jerse y in 1960. She is buried in the Rosedale Cemetery in Martinsburg, Wes t Virginia (from Find a Grave).

Her husband Heinz was an instructor of German at John Hopkins Universi ty from 1943-1952. Some sources, such as Geni.com give his first nam e as Christoph rather than Heinz but Heinz appears to be correct. I n the Mrianne Landau Collection in the Leo Baeck Institute, his name c an be found as Dr. Heinz von Schueching, living in Matinsburg.
