She was married to Dr. Moshe Elias Oransz. He wrote a few books abou t thermal cures as well as a travel guidebook about Crotaia, Dalmatia , and Bosnia. They lived in Vienna and later in Grado, a spa town bet ween Venice and Trieste, at that time part of the Austro-Hungarian Emp ire, but after 1918 part of Italy. In grado Maurizio ran a spa calle d "Casa Salute" [or, Casa di Cura-Albergo "Alla Salute"] for patient s undergoing the thermal cure. On November 16, 1943 he was arrested i n Trieste and deported to Auschwitz. Probably Sophie was arrested an d deported with him. "My Heritage" gives his date of death as Dec. 10 ,, 1943.
