Chaia married Rabbi David Dov (Berish) Meisels, son of Rabbi Aryeh Judah Jacob Meisels and Unknown. (Rabbi David Dov (Berish) Meisels was born in 1814 in Poland and died in 1875.)
MEISELS, DAVID DOV (1814-1876), Polish rabbi. Meisels was the son of A ryeh Judah Jacob who served as av bet din of Piotrkow and Kilatow. H e was known in his youth as a prodigy (illui). He was appointed av be t din of Dobra at the age of 18 and later served in the same capacit y at Nasielsk. From 1851 until his death he was rabbi of Lask. He wa s regarded as one of the outstanding talmudists of his generation an d gained the deep respect of the á¸¥asidic rabbi of Gur, Isaac Meir, aut hor of the á¸¤iddushei ha-Rim. Meisels' important works, published by hi s sons, are Ahavat David, on the laws of invalid witnesses (1884); á¸¤id dushei ha-Radad, novellae on tractate Pesaá¸¥im (1891); She'elot u-Teshu vot ha-Radad, responsa on Oraá¸¥ á¸¤ayyim and Even ha-Ezer (1903); and Bin yan David, on the Book of Lamentations (1913). Of his sons, jacob, aut hor of the Toledot Ya'akov, succeeded his father as rabbi of Lask; phi nehas elijah served as rabbi of Rakov and ze'ev wolf was a distinguish ed á¸¤asid at Tarnow.
