Davidson, Dr. Noe (Noach)

He was an eye doctor (opthalmologist) and an active Zionist who edite d the first Zionist newspaper in the Polish language, Glos Zydowski, a nd wrote for many Russian and Yiddish periodicals. He was active in c ommunal affairs in Warsaw and was president of the Jewish Students' Ho me in Warsaw.

He served as a military doctor during World War I and was attached t o the headquarters of the famous Russian General Nikolai Vladimirovic h Russki, commander of the southwestern front. During the war he marr ied the general's daughter, Wiera Russka. She converted to Judaism, b ut after Dr. Noach Davidson's death she reverted to Christianity and m arried the Russian General Simenowski. The death of Noah Davidson an d his widow's return to Christianity were noted by the Jewish Telegrap hic Agency. Dr. Noach Davidson and his wife Wiera nee Russka had tw o children.

Dr. married Wiera Russka, daughter of Russian General Vladimirovich Russki and Unknown.
