Wealthy industrialist like his father. Also a supporter of the painte r Samuel Hirszenberg. He died in 1907 during a strike (lockout) at th e family's factory. He refused to pay the workers and to give in to t heir demands, and he was shot by one of the workers. The Russian auth orieties exectuted ten workers from teh factory and sent 127 workers t o Chelyabinsk in the East Urals as punishment.
