Cohn, Chana

  General Notes:

(b. Sept. 9, 1848, in Zurawno; d. Aug. 24, 1936, Vienna). Married i n Lwow/Lemberg to Wolf (Wilhelm) Linie (b. circa Dec. 29, 1843; d. Jan . 20, 1917, Vienna) a son of Leiser Linie and Basza Munzer. Accordin g to their marriage record they were married on December 26, 1878 in L wow. Presumably this was a civil marriage ceremony in order to make t heir marriag legal and recognized by the state. They must have had an d earlier marriage since they had two children born before the date o f this marriage.

According to the actual marriage record, Wolf Linie's occupation is "c apitalist" and his father is an "owner of real estate." Chana is desc ribed as a daughter of the "deceased merchant Abel Kohn from Zurawno " and Rebeka Kohn, with her surname Kohn apparently crossed out. Th e dates of birth above are based upon their ages in the marriage recor d, but Chana's age is probably wrong if her son Abraham Abel was bor n in 1864 when she was apparently 16 years old.

Chana and Wolf Linie moved to Vienna in 1897.

Also, Wolf (Wilhelm) Linie had two sisters whe were married to Elia El iasz Zabludowski, who was a grandson of Izaak Dawidowiciz Zabludowski , the wealthy man from Bialystok. Izaak Dawidowicz Zabludowski's daug hter Pessa was marred to Majer Wolf Cohn, brother of Abel Cohn. Pessi e Linie married Eliasz Zabludowski in 1874, and presumably after her d eath, Eliasz married her sister Ester Linie in 1882 (from Geni).

Chana married Wolf (Wilhelm) Linie, son of Leiser Linie and Basza Munzer, on Dec 26, 1878 in Lemberg/Lwow, Ukraine. (Wolf (Wilhelm) Linie was born about Dec 29, 1843 and died on Jan 20, 1917 in Vienna, Austria.)
