  General Notes:

On December 10, 1938, when he was 15, Guido was sent by his parents t o England as part of the "Kindertransport." He lived for a year in Bo urnemouth in the rectory of a Catholic priest named Fr. Monaghan wit h about ten other refugee boys. After war was declared he was interne d as an "enemy alien" in a camp in Huyton near Liverpoo and later on t he Isle of Man. In July 1940 he was sent to Canada with other interne es and he arrived in Canada on July 5, 1940. He lived at first i n a camp in New Brunswick and later he was in Camp A near Farnham, Que bec. He was released in December of 1941. He worked for the aircraf t companies Dowty and DeHavilland.


Guido married Ellinore Elizabeth (Betty) Purdon, daughter of Henry (Harry) DeLacherois Purdon and Alice Elizabeth Griffin, on Oct 9, 1953 in Port Whitby, Ontario, Canada. (Ellinore Elizabeth (Betty) Purdon was born on Dec 6, 1923 in Belfast, Northern Ireland and died on Jun 24, 1996 in Ajax, Ontario, Canada.)
