He was an architect in Jerusalem. He was married to Thelma Bentwich ( 1895-1959). She was a daughter of Herbert Bentwich (1856-1932), Briti sh Zionist leader, lawyer and professor of international relations a t the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Thelma was born in England an d moved to Eretz Yisrael in 1919. She was a cellist and pedagogue wh o pioneered and promoted classical music in Israel. In 1921 she foun ded the Jerusalem Music Society. She performed with the Jerusalem Str ing Quartet and the Israeli String Quartet.
